How to prepare for your home inspection:
* Make sure all utilities are on and all pilot lights are lit. A complete inspection requires that all major appliances and equipment be inspected using normal operating controls. Utilities that are not on
will result in that system not being inspected
* Make sure access to the entire property is available. While an inspection is not intrusive,
I want to see everything. That means the attic, crawlspaces, and all points between. At the point an inspection is needed, you have usually started packing. Try to keep all boxes away from the walls so these areas can be observed. If you have a day sleeper or small children taking naps, make sure our scheduling coordinators know this so we can accommodate your needs.
* If you have a pet that can get a little nervous or agitated, please help
me and put them away for a few hours.
* Take the time to share any information you think might be helpful to me,
your inspector. A home inspection is not just about finding fault with a house, it’s about providing information.
